Music is good

Been collecting music I have wanted for many, many years. Now I have an allowance so the latest additions to my CD collection are: KC & The Sunshine Band, Linda Ronstadt, Joe Walsh and Kiss.

For the kids my music is either cool or, "Oh, no! Not THAT again." What? Don't they like to shake their booty? The jury is still out as far as my husband is concerned. He's probably happy that it's not more country twang. Not yet, anyway, Honey-Bunny. :) :) :)

I shared the IBS (Irritable Boy Syndrome) column in the Jelly Mom newsletter recently. A reader tells me that soon to follow this malady is ITBS - Irritable TEEN Boy Syndrome. REALLY?

Oh, noooooooooooooooooooo!

Sigh.

Had a great five day weekend for the 4th of July. Got my van fixed this week (transmission woes). What we saved on parts covered by the warranty we made up for in new tires, but I think we still saved.

So this week I hand the van over to my sister who is taking the teen girls (along with her three) for a week. I am sure they will LOVE every moment of it. No little brothers!! Yay!

Becca is doing 'okay.' Please pray for her to quickly get through her digestion troubles today and she will be one happy camper for the weekend.

I'll be out visiting my folks so it will be a quiet time for her and Dad. He could really use the time. It's been very stressful at work. Yesterday I made him pork cutlets, oven-browned potatoes, broccoli and chocolate pudding cake for dessert.

Tonight it's leftovers. But I'm making fresh chips to make up for it...and then there's still some cake leftover....

I HAD to make the cake. Nicole made her best friend a chocolate cake for her birthday and I was dying for a piece. Funny how they go all out for their friends b-day and I had to BUY MY OWN CAKE and presents for them to give me.

????

(Yes, I am milking this for all the guilt it's worth. Probably won't get me anywhere, though.)

Been having fun working on a novel I have been trying to revise for years. I take it out yearly and torture myself. Looking forward to the fall when the little caboose starts kindy. It will be just Boo and me, and while she sleeps in mornings I will write. Yes!

Have a great weekend!

5 Day Weekend

Wahoo! My husband surprised me by getting a five day weekend for the 4th of July. That means grill, grill, grill and do nothing else - meaning NO HOUSEWORK, but I might write. Been having fun revising an old novel of mine.

Took the teens and a friend to the movies yesterday. We saw Hancock - pretty good.

Grilled hot dogs and hamburgers yesterday, today ribs and sausage, tomorow will be salmon. I am on a roll.

All the kids on the block were lined up for hot dogs and asking about the s'mores I make every year for the 4th. So I bought extra chocolate this year because it looks like there will be a few more lining up when I make those.

Still to come on the menu: tri-tip and chicken.

The older kids will be out this weekend having fun, no doubt.

May all my American readers have a fantastic 4th of July!!
